David King – Director and Chairman
A founding director of Finshore, David King is chair of the board providing overall governance to the business. He also manages the organisation’s finance function, with oversight of the leadership team.
After graduating from University College London in 1984 with a degree in Statistics and Computer Science, David started his career as a trainee actuary with Legal & General, quickly moving to a technology role. In 1986, he joined the City of London-based stockbroker James Capel & Co as a Bond Analyst.
In 1988 David joined a software company specialising in asset management systems where he spent 10 years designing applications used by fund managers. After leaving the company, which became known as DST International, he continued to work on development and implementation of their newest range of solutions, before going on to complete a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in 1992.
In 1995 David set up Tiger Consultants, which provided recruitment and consulting services to asset managers in the UK and mainland Europe. In 2008, Tiger was sold to Fusion and David worked for Fusion as Head of Financial Services Consulting.
David became Chairman and CEO of Finshore Partners on its launch in 2011.
When not busy with his three children, David is a keen sportsman with a marathon and several half-marathons under his belt. He also enjoys playing tennis, football and golf.
David regularly enjoys watching live sport including rugby, football and tennis. He has even attended the Darts World Championships. In his spare time, David enjoys travelling to all parts of the world as well as exploring London and the UK at every opportunity
